13-year-old boy hangs self in Mumbai
Mumbai, Jan 21: A 13-year-old-boy allegedly committed suicide in the Cheetah Camp area of Trombay on Wednesday, Jan 20.
The deceased, identified as Khalid Shaikh, hanged himself to the ceiling after being suspended from school.
According to police official Jalinder Khandagle, the boy had got into a fight with a classmate and punched him in the nose so that the latter started bleeding.
The principal of the school then called Khalid's uncle to complain about it and also suspended Khalid for a week.
Khandagle said, "Thereafter, Khalid's uncle took the boy back home and then himself left for some work. Later in the evening, Khalid used a nylon rope to hang himself."
The boy studied in Std VIII at Swami Vivekanand School and his parents were not at home when the incident happened.
Police said that no suicide note was found. Further investigation is on.
