VK Murthy chosen for 2008 Dada Saheb Phalke Award
New Delhi, Jan 19: Veteran cinematographer V K Murthy, who has given the Indian cinema some memorable and breathtaking visual moments, has been chosen for the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award for the year 2008.
Shri Murthy would be the 56th recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, a press information bureau release said on Tuesday, Jan 19.
The cinematographer who has worked with legendary film director and actor Guru Dutt has already been honoured with the IIFA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.
The Dada Saheb Phalke Award, which is conferred annually by the Government of India, is the highest national award for contribution to the art of films.
