PM to meet junior ministers over less work
New Delhi, Jan 19: As part of the complain by the junior ministers over non-allocation of enough work, prime minister Manmohan Singh is scheduled to meet the ministers on Tuesday, Jan 19.
Miffed over the less work assigned by the senior ministers, the 38 junior cabinet ministers had complained about being overlooked by their seniors.
"Everybody knows that Ministers of States do not have a role to play," Minister of State (Urban Development) Saugata Roy said.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said that the meeting has been scheduled to tackle this issue.
"It is for this purpose the Prime Minister has called the meeting to get a better perspective and some of them have not been given work."
Aimed at grooming them for the future, both the prime minister and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is said to be in favor of allocating bigger job profile.
"We have met the PM individually but this is the first time we are meeting him together and it is important to get an understanding of what he wants from us," Minister of State (Surface Transport) RPM Singh said.
