Indian accused of rape Down Under wanted 'fresh faces' as models
Melbourne, January 19 (ANI): An Indian in Australia has been charged for allegedly raping a woman after luring her, claiming to be a fashion executive searching for "fresh faces" for luxury lingerie brand La Perla.
Paul Rajendran reportedly used a fake profile on MySpace under a false name of 'James Carter.'
He claimed he was a marketing executive for the exclusive label.
However, the young woman who has alleged rape told the court she agreed to meet "James Carter" for coffee and a "relaxed interview" on March 10 last year.
But Rajendran led her to Tank Stream Bar, where she had four glasses of champagne.
Later, he allegedly raped her in his Hunter St office while she "cried hysterically."
"I was hysterical...I couldn't breathe properly because I was so upset," the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.
However, the emails exchanged between Rajendran and the woman specified that he was looking for models who were "wild with fire and passion."
The woman clarified she just told him she was single and not looking to settle down.
She said: "I was trying to impress him for this job that I was going for."
However, Rajendran has claimed it was consensual sex and has pleaded not guilty. (ANI)
