Train rams into another near UP, 3 killed
Agra, Jan 16: 3 people, including a child were killled and 14 others were injured as the Bhiwani-Kanpur Central Kalindi Express rammed into Kanpur-bound Shram Shakti Express due to thick fog near Tundla junction in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, Jan 16, morning.
Officials said that the mishap occurred at around 8.15 am, near Tundla in Firozabad district, about 24km from Agra.
They added that the last two coaches of the Shram Shakti Express were damaged in the incident.
While the details on the incident are awaited, Railway officials in New Delhi cited dense fog as the primary cause of the accident.
North-Central Railway spokesperson RD Vajpai informed that relief and rescue operation has been rushed to the accident site.
He said that the injured has been taken to a nearby hospital.
10 people died and 45 were wounded in three different train accidents caused by dense fog on Jan 2 in Uttar Pradesh.
