3 al-Qaeda men held in Yemen

Sanaa, Jan 16: Three al-Qaeda militants were held in the Yemen, near the Saudi Arabian border, on Saturday, Jan 16, said a Yemeni security source.

The source, who sought anonymity said that the militants were apprehended with weapons, explosives and leaflets.

Earlier On Friday, Jan 15, an air strike in northern Yemen killed six al-Qaeda militants, which were part of the Yemen government's campaign against the terror group.

Yemen intensified its operation against al-Qaeda after the Yemen-wing of the terror group claimed responsibility of the foiled US plane attack on Christmas eve.
