Jyoti Basu remains very critical

Kolkata, Jan 15: The health condition of CPI-M leader veteran Jyoti Basu remained very critical on Friday morning, Jan 15.

Speaking to reporters, Dr Sushrut Banerjee said, "Basu's condition is very critical. His oxygen requirement has been further increased although he was put on haemo-dialysis for two hours last evening."

He said Basu's cardiac and renal functions had not shown any improvement.

"Basu will be put on haemo-dialysis again this afternoon for another two hours if his health permits," he said.

Doctors have already increased the dose of 'Ionotropes' to stabilise his blood pressure, he added.
