Yemen-based Al Qaeda planning fresh attack on U.S.
Washington, Jan. 14 (ANI): American intelligence officials have credible evidence suggesting that Yemen-based Al Qaeda operatives are plotting a new attack on the United States.
Following the failed bombing attempt on the Detroit-bound air carrier, US intelligence officials revealed that they have information that al Qaeda is planning another attack, but declined to give further details.
However, they have described the information as "credible" and are considering whether to step up security measures, the New York Post reports.
One official has said the news is not surprising, as they had expected further attacks following the failed Christmas Day airliner bombing plot. (ANI)
