ITBP Judokas call on Chidambaram
New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): Assistant Sub Inspector Virender Singh and Ct Kalpana of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) who recently won gold medals in the Commonwealth Judo Championship called on the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram here on Thursday.
The Commonwealth Judo Championship 2010 held at Singapore from January 8 to 12.
The national Judo coach, Virender Singh Yadav and ITBP Director General Vikaram Srivastava accompanied the winners.
Chidambaram congratulated the players and expressed confidence about the success of these Judokas in future international Championships also.
Teams from 21 countries participated in the Commonwealth Judo Championship.
The championship is organized once in every two years.
Virender Singh won Gold medal in the 81 kilograms weight (men) category while Kalpana in 52 Kilogram weight (women) category. (ANI)
