Speaking to reporters after the Cabinet Commitee meet, he said, "People had a wrong impression about the Centre's role in controlling prices."
He also asked Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar to publicise steps taken to control food prices.
He further said short-term measures will be introduced to arrest prices.
