Jyoti Basu health shows slight improvement
Kolkata, Jan 13: The health condition of the veteran Left leader, Jyoti Basu shows slight improvement, said the doctors attending to him at AMRI hospital on Wednesday, Jan 13.
The condition, however, is still critical, the doctors added, informing that he is on partial ventilation and is being administered blood pressure stabilising drugs.
“Basu"s blood pressure and pulse are stable at the moment and he has mild fever," the hospital Superintendent Dr Debashis Sharma said.
Dr Sharma added that his urine output has improved and that the 95-year-old leader is responding well to treatement.
The CPI(M) leader was first admitted to the hospital on Jan 1 with pneumonia. The doctors later put the Marxist leader on ventilator support after his condition suddenly deteriorated.
