Zardari to transfer powers to PM after constitutional draft is finalized: PPP
Lahore, Jan. 10 (ANI): The Pakistan People's Party has announced that President Asif Ali Zardari will transfer powers to the prime minister the moment the committee working on constitutional package finalises its recommendations.
The Dawn quoted PPP secretary-general Jehangir Badr as saying this while speaking at a book launch "Asif Ali Zardari, aik mudabar siasatdan (a mature politician)" at Alhamra here on Saturday.
Badr praised Zardari for his sacrifices and contribution to Pakistan and democracy.
Speaking at the function, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said Zardari became the PPP chief on the will of Benazir Bhutto and proved to be a good leader.
He added that Zardari bravely faced imprisonment and emerged as a mature politician.
He also said that Zardari and the PPP government would face conspiracies bravely and would not allow conspirators to succeed in their nefarious designs. (ANI)
