Jyoti Basu's health deteriorating: AMRI doctors

Kolkata, Jan 9: The health condition of 95-year-old Marxist leader Jyoti Basu has deteriorated, said the medical bulletin issued by AMRI Hospital on Saturday, Jan 9.

"There is deterioration in general condition," the bulletin said.

There is a drop in his urine output and he is feeling drowsy, the doctors attending on him said.

This signifies involvement of multiple organs", the bulletin added.

The veteran Left front leader and the former chief minister of West Bengal was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia on Jan 1.

He was later put on ventilator support after his health suddenly deteriorated.
