Rathore's bail plea rejected, arrest imminent

Panchukula, Jan 8: A court here on Friday, Jan 8, rejected the anticipatory bail plea of former Haryana DGP S P S Rathore in Ruchika Girhotra's molestation and suicide case.

Additional district and sessions judge Sanjeev Jindal dismissed the bail plea filed after two fresh FIRs were registered against Rathore on Dec 29.

Rathore has been booked under non-bailable charges like attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, forging evidence, wrongful confinement, fabricating false evidence and criminal conspiracy.

Ruchika, a budding tennis player, was molested by Rathore on Aug 12, 1990. She committed suicide three years later, allegedly due to harassment of her and her family.
