New Delhi, Jan 8: The Centre has informed the Supreme Court that its decision on pre-paid mobile ban in Jammu Kashmir could not be revoked now due to security reasons.
"We cannot revoke the ban. It is due to the security reasons the ban on pre-paid mobile services has been imposed," Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium said.
An affidavit was also placed before the bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice B S Chauhan.
The petitioner has to file its reply and posted the matter for further hearing on Jan 25, affidavit said.
On Dec 15, the Supreme Court had granted two weeks time to the Centre and Jammu Kashmir government to respond on a petition challenging the ban on pre-paid mobile phone services in the state.
