Stop approaching VVIPs, VIPs for favors: IAF
New Delhi, Jan 7: Indian Air Force (IAF) has warned its officers against approaching VVIP and VIP for service related matters such as posting.
IAF spokesperson Flight Lieutenant Priya Joshi said that the decision was routine general advisory by IAF which are discussed and conveyed to officers and troops at the welfare meetings held at unit level.
"This is a routine general advisory issued by the IAF. It was not instigated by any particular incident in the recent past," Joshi said.
She added that the services have well-established procedures for redressal of grievances for putting across one's view to higher echelons.
Terming such practices as an unauthorized channel of approach, Joshi said that it leads to flouting of laid down rules, including putting undue pressure on the decision-making authorities.
