Srinagar: 22-hour siege ends, 2 terrorists killed
Srinagar, Jan 7: The 22-hour long encounter between terrorists and security personnel ended shortly before the noon on Thursday, Jan 7 with both the terrorists being killed.
Kuldeep Khuda, CRPF DIG, has confirmed that both the terrorists have been killed . Presently, the police and CRPF troopers were sanitising the building, in which the militants were holed up, to confirm that there are no terrorists left there.
The officer has also confirmed that one of the militant was a Pakistani national while the other was a local.
Although a local militant outfit, Jamiet-e-Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the attack on Jan 6 evening, the police believe that the attack was carried out by Lashkar-e-Toiba militants.
