Fog engulfs Delhi, flight operations disrupted
New Delhi, Jan 7: Heavy fog continues to the wreck havoc in the national capital. Due to extremely low runway visibility at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport, as many as 50 domestic and international flights have been affected.
The Met department informed that the fog which started accumulating in the early hours of Thursday, Jan 7, became thick at around 6 am.
General visibility was reduced to zero, while the runway visibility fell to less than 50 metres.
According to Met predictions, Delhi will see dense fog even on Friday, Jan 8.
The minimum temperature on Thursday, Jan 7 was slightly higher at 6.8 degree as against minimum of 5.6 deg C on Wednesday, Jan 6.
