Pak court rejects 26/11 suspects' acquittal plea
Islamabad, Jan 6: An anti-terror court on Wednesday, Jan 6, rejected an application seeking acquittal of LeT operations chief Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and six others in 26/11 case.
The court also rejected an application by the suspects for Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist arrested alive during the attacks, to be brought to Pakistan from India for trial.
Judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan directed the prosecution to present evidence against the accused at the next hearing on Jan 16.
The accused, Lakhvi, Zarar Shah, Abu al-Qama, Hamad Amin Sadiq, Shahid Jamil Riaz, Jamil Ahmed and Younas Anjum, were formally charged with planning and helping execute the assault on Mumbai in Nov 2008.
