General Motors India introduces Chevrolet 'Beat'

New Delhi, Jan 5: General Motors India started off the new year with a bang by introducing its third car in the country's small car market - Chevrolet 'Beat'.

Karl Slym, president and managing director of the company, who introduced the car said that for a automobile company to be successful in India, it was very important to have a presence in the small car segment.

"If you want to be a global, high volume player then you got to be in the mini segment so we already have two cars, Spark and Yuva, this would be our third here in India," Slym said during the launch on Monday, Jan 4.

The auto major is also expected to launch 'Beat' in 150 countries in Europe, Asia and North America in the coming days.
