Miera Kumar stresses for speedy relief in women harassment cases
New Delhi, Jan 4 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Monday said that justice should be provided immediately in women harassment instances.
Addressing the media in the national capital, Kumar sighted the Ruchika case and expressed concern over delayed justice.
Ruchika's case that lingered on for nearly two decades, Meira Kumar said the whole nation is awaiting justice in terms of punishing the guilty.
"If any crime is committed against women, the justice should be provided as soon as possible. There shouldn't be any delay. Justice should be given immediately. This however is a case of a small girl and it is very sad for the society and the entire nation is waiting for due justice," Kumar said.
She said that there should be instant relief for victims of atrocities, specially when the women are at the receiving end. (ANI)
