L&T bags contract worth Rs 580 cr
Mumbai, Dec 31: Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Thursday, Dec 31, said it has won orders worth Rs 581 crore from Powergen Infrastructure and Bangalore Water and Sewerage Board (BWSSB).
In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, L&T said, "It received a Rs 392 crore order for material handling business and another Rs 189 crore order for water business during the third quarter of 2009-10."
The Rs 392 crore contract from Powergen Infrastructure, is for setting up a coal handling plant in Maharashtra in 30 months.
Meanwhile, the Rs 189 crore contract secured from BWSSB includes laying of steel pipeline, envisaging transmission of 500 million litres of water per day from Kaveri river to Bangalore.
The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.
