Gurgaon: Friends kill DPS student for ransom
Gurgaon, Dec 31: A class IX student of Delhi Public School in Gurgaon, was abducted and murdered by own his friends, when his family members failed to pay a ransom amount of Rs 50 lakh.
According to a senior police officer, Azharuddin's friends Manoj and Syed Aftab called him out of his house for an evening walk in Bhodasi, Gurgaon, on Dec 21 and then abducted him.
Later Anish, Aniyansh and Ravi joined Manoj and Aftab and took the 16-year-old Azharuddin to Etah in Uttar Pradesh, the officer said.
The boys then demanded 50 lakh from their friend's family. When Azharuddin's family refused to pay such an amount, the five boys killed their friend and burnt his body.
Azhruddin was a student of Delhi Public School, Bhodasi and Manoj and Syed Aftab lived in the same locality.
"The boy was killed after his family said they did not have the money to pay the kidnappers," said a senior police officer.
