Wife and lover murders husband in Tripura

Agartala, Dec 29: Tripura Assembly Speaker Ramendra Chandra Debnath's brother was murdered by his wife and paramour on Monday, Dec 28, the Agartala police said.

"Tripura Assembly Speaker's brother Sushil Debnath, 46, was murdered by his wife and her lover, a police constable, Saturday at Kumarghat in northern Tripura," said police official Sudeshna Bhattacharjee.

Stating the duo has been arrested, police said that the victim's wife has confessed to the crime.

As the car used in the murder was registered in West Bengal, the help of West Bengal police has been sought by the authorities in Tripura.

Similarly in Nov 2009, a youth Congress leader Mantu Das was reportedly killed by his wife and her associates.
