Fog affects visibility at IGI, 6 flights delayed

New Delhi, Dec 29: As many as six domestic flights were delayed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport as shallow fog affected the visibility.

According to the ariport sources, two flights to Chennai, two to Srinagar, and one each to Amritsar and Patna were delayed by about an hour as the general visibility dropped.

"The runway visibility reduced to 700 metres," Director of the Indira Gandhi International Airport MeT department R K Jenamani said.

However, it is unusual that the national capital which saw dense fog in this time of the year in 2008 has not seen any in 2009, the official added.
