US orders full body scans at airports
Washington, Dec 28: US lawmakers have prescribed a full body scan for passengers in the wake of the foiled terror attack on US plane by a Nigerian on Christmas eve.
"I would say right now we do need full-body scan, especially when you have countries like Nigeria, which have inadequate security, and you have passengers transiting in Amsterdam and coming here," Congressman Peter King said in a Television report.
King said that ordering a full body scan was not an invasion of privacy, but would help in saving lives.
The move by US came after a Nigerian national tried to set off explosive device aboard Northwest airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.
The decision is reportedly supported by Senator Joe Lieberman, Chairman of Senate Committee on Homeland Security.
