India seeks divine intervention against global warming

Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan), Dec 28 (ANI): A holy fire ritual was held here on Sunday in which 151 priests from all parts of the country chanted Vedic hymns to reduce the ill effects of pollution on the environment.

"Basically, this fire ritual is organized for development of human race and mainly for curbing the increasing amount in pollution in the world as the ingredients used in the holy performance will have a good effect on the environment," said Raghuveer, one of the priest.

Over 13,000 people made offerings for the holy cause.

At least 4.5 tonnes of clarified butter, wood, oil and other things was used in the nine day fire-ritual. (ANI)
