Prince William's girlfriend 'turns down lunch with Queen'

London, December 27 (ANI): Prince William's girlfriend Kate Middleton reportedly turned down the chance to dine with the British Royals at Buckingham Palace.

Kate was said to have received the formal festive invitation to attend a pre-Christmas lunch but decided against it to avoid too much attention.

"Kate has enormous respect and admiration for the Queen and was very flattered to be asked," the Daily Star quoted a close friend as saying.

"But, if she'd been there, it would have caused too much disruption for everyone else.

"The very last thing she wants to do is rock the boat so, between them, she and William said they would rather wait another year until something official is out there.

"It was not a snub to the Queen, who seemed to understand how the couple felt," the friend added. (ANI)
