Japanese PM on three-day visit to India from Sunday

New Delhi, Dec. 25 (ANI): The Prime Minister of Japan, Yukio Hatoyama, will pay an official three-day visit to India from December 27 to 29 at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh.

His wife Miyuki Hatoyama will accompany Prime Minister Hatoyama. The Prime Minister and his delegation will visit Mumbai and Delhi.

A government release said this would be the fourth annual summit between the Prime Ministers of India and Japan since 2006.

The two Prime Ministers will discuss ways to expand, enhance and strengthen the India - Japan Strategic and Global Partnership. They will also discuss regional and global issues.

The visiting dignitary and his delegation will arrive in Mumbai n Sunday evening

He will spend most of Monday in Mumbai before leaving for New Delhi in the afternoon.

On Monday, he will meet the Director General (TERI) R.K. Pachauri at the Hotel Oberoi.

He will meet UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at 6.45 p.m. and Prime Minister Singh from 7. 20 p.m.

On Tuesday, he will place a wreath at Rajghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. This will be followed with a second meeting with Dr. Singh and a signing of a joint statement.

A joint press conference will follow at Hyderabad House.

He will leave for Tokyo on Tuesday afternoon. (ANI)
