Indian Navy committed to avoid 26/11 replay: Patil
Mumbai, Dec 23: President Pratibha Patil said on Wednesday, Dec 23 that the Indian navy and other stakeholders in the field of maritime are pro-actively working towards preventing a 26/11 replay.
Patil said that the Mumbai-terror attacks exposes the vulnerability of sea-route for possible terror strikes.
"Navy and other stakeholders are bringing about synergy and establishing standard operating procedures to prevent recurrence of 26/11 type attack, Patil said addressing sailors and officers aboard INS Viraat.
The supreme commander of India's armed forces said that government is committed to bring about modernization in Indian Navy with respect to the changing 21st century.
President Pratibha Patil is on board INS viraat, India's lone aircraft carrier.
