China defends arms sale to Pak
Beijing, Dec 23: China on Tuesday, Dec 22, dismissed Concerns on military aid provided to Pakistan saying that India too was involved in acquiring military equipment from US and Russia.
Zhai Dequan, deputy director of China Arms Control and Disarmament Association said that China stance is likely to draw concerns from India but it was only normal procedure followed by any independent nation.
"The initiative may invite concerns from its neighbouring countries. But the doubts are unnecessary," Zhai Dequan said, adding that India has already acquired aircraft carrier worth billions of US dollars.
China has already provided F22P frigates including submarines.
In his visit to China, the chief of Pakistan's naval staff Noman Bashir has ordered bigger warship from China.
