Rajya Sabha adjourned over death of BJP MP Acharya

New Delhi, Dec 21: Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day on Monday, Dec 21, over the death of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP S Acharya.

The 80-year-old BJP leader reportedly passed away at around 1: 45 am on Monday, Dec 21 morning.

Media reports suggest that Mr Acharya has been ill for some time now.

The upper house which was supposed to be adjourned sine die, was adjourned only for the day as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is expected to make a statement on the climate change deal struck at Copenhangen last week.
