Tekanpur (MP), Dec 21 (ANI): Paramilitary forces in Madhya Pradesh have adopted an unconventional method of keeping their horses fit: playing music while they feed.

Music therapy is being used extensively by stable-workers. They play Hindi songs while the horses are fed.

Officials of the Ashva Training School said that by listening to music, horses feel relaxed; they then eat well and remain fit and healthy.

"Music is such a thing that it not only soothes humans, but also animals. So we play music for our horses while they have their meals. By doing this, the horses stay in the stable only, and remain fine," said Ramesh Singh, an official of the Border Security Force's horse training school.

He added that when the riders are not there, the horses feel lonely and music helps them to cope.

There are around 40 horses in the stable of the Ashva Training School.

These horses have won many competitions in countries like Muscat, South Africa and America. The competitions cause a lot of physical stress to the horses from continuous practice sessions, and so music therapy has been introduced to soothe the beasts. (ANI)
