Delhi records season's lowest temperature
New Delhi, Dec 21: The mercury dropped to 7.4 degrees Celsius in the national capital on Monday, Dec 21, making it the season's lowest so far.
The minimum temperature in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh hovered between two to four degree Celsius below normal at several places.
The weather office attributed the drop in temperature to snowfall in upper parts of the country and a cool winds that brought the winter chill to the northern plains.
According to India Meterological Department, "The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to fall further following snowing in Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh."
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 22 degrees Celsius.
