Tigress found dead at Jim Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett (Uttarakhand), Dec 18 (ANI): A tigress was found dead in Sarpduli range of the Jim Corbett National Park on Thursday.
The carcass of the tigress was found floating in Ramganga River in the Park.
S S Sharma, Chief Wildlife Warden, said that the exact cause of the death of tigress could be ascertained only after the post mortem.
"The death was reported yesterday and we cannot ascertain the exact cause of death until the post mortem is conducted. I think it died three days back and it was reported yesterday. The tigress must have been around 10 to 11 years old," said Sharma.
On December 13, an eight-year-old male tiger was found dead in Dhikala range of the sanctuary.
In recent years, many tiger deaths have been reported from the Corbett National Park, and the concerned authorities have stepped up vigilance to keep a check on poachers. (ANI)
