Salem: AIADMK councillor killed in car crash
Salem, Dec 18: An All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) councillor was killed in a car accident in the early hours of Friday, Dec 18 morning, the police informed.
42-year-old Thangavel was killed when the car in which he was travelling collided with a lorry near Salem. Three other councillors were also injured in the accident.
The mishap took place when Thangavel, AIADMK's Salem district president, was returning after canvassing in Vandavasi assembly constituency for a by-election, which is scheduled for Dec 19.
