NRO judgement Pak's internal matter: US

Washington, Dec. 18 (ANI) : The United States has refused to comment on the Pakistan Supreme Court's decision declaring the controversial National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) as 'unconstitutional', saying it was that country 'internal issue'.

"That is an internal Pakistani matter and we respect the decision of the Supreme Court," The Daily Times quoted deputy spokesman of the State Department Robert Wood, as saying.

During a regular briefing, Wood was asked about the reported delay by the Pakistani authorities to grant visas to the US officials, to which he replied that the administration is working with its Pakistani counterparts to resolve the issue.

Asked if the delay was having an impact on US-Pakistan relations, he said : "It's hard for me to characterise how - would I want to stand up here at the podium and say it's having a real impact right now. I don't - I can't really say that. I just don't know. But I think, should this continue, it indeed will have an impact." (ANI)
