Maoists plague poll-bound Jharkhand
Medininagar, Dec 18: A landmine planted by suspected Maoists in poll-bound Jharkhand exploded injuring a policeman at Mahur.
The state armed police personnel, who sustained splinter injuries, has been shifted to hospital, superintendent of police Jatin Narwal informed.
Mahur region is part of the Hussainabad assembly constituency,which is a Maoist stronghold.
The fifth and final phase of the polling for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly began on Friday, Dec 18 morning amid tight security and unprecedented arrangements.
Security forces foiled yet another attempt to disrupt the polls in Chatra assembly constituency, recovering 40 kg IED near booth number 102 during a search operation.
