Malaysian Government must ensure bank loans for Indians
Kuala Lumpur, Dec.15 (ANI): The Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) has called on the Malaysian Government to ensure Indian small entrepreneurs are able to obtain loans from commercial banks.
MIC president S. Samy Vellu said the matter had been brought to the attention of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak during the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Indian Affairs recently.
"We have also asked the Finance Ministry to review the conditions for granting loans to make it more flexible," The Star quoted him as telling reporters after handing over loan cheques from the National Tekun Foundation to 109 Indian entrepreneurs here yesterday.
He said many Indian entrepreneurs had difficulty obtaining loans from commercial banks, although they were qualified. (ANI)
