'Cheap' watch worn by Obama becomes collector's item

London, December 15 (ANI): Call it the Barack Obama effect - the US President has sent a relatively inexpensive watch to become an overnight best-seller after he was spotted wearing the same model.

The Jorg Gray 6500, priced around 260 pounds, has allegedly become one of the best selling in the US, after the president was seen sporting the simple black design at several high-profile appearances.

"We have seen tremendous growth in 2009 with global interest in the 6500 and our other styles as the president continues to wear his Jorg Gray," the Telegraph quoted Trevor Gnesin, the president of Jorg Gray, as telling US News.

The company has now come out with a commemorative edition version of the same leather-strapped time piece, engraved with the date when Obama took office.

A statement on its site reads: "This sophisticated time piece has fast become a highly sought after and valuable collector's item." (ANI)
