Sonia seeks Andhra MPs cooperation
New Delhi, Dec 14: In attempt to calm down the turmoil in Andhra Pradesh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has urged Andhra MPs to cooperate in the formation of Telangana state.
Party MP, M. Jagannath said that the Congress president has sought the MPs' cooperation as the decision for separate Telangana was taken in the nation's greater interest.
"She told us that the decision was taken in the greater interest of the nation and we will have to cooperate," Jagannath said about their meeting with the Sonia Gandhi.
Citing full cooperation from MPs from Andhra, Jagannath said that Sonia Gandhi and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee backs the creation of separate Telangana.
Earlier in the day, the Andhra assembly was indefinitely adjourned following protest from MLAs against independent Telangana.
