Jharkhand witnesses 50 percent voting in fourth phase

Ranchi, Dec 12 (ANI): An estimated 50 percent voters exercised their franchise in the fourth phase of the Jharkhand Assembly election on Saturday.

The polling, which began at 7 a.m, passed off peacefully amid tight security till the reports came in.

Over 24,00,000 voters were eligible to cast their vote to decide the fate of 233 candidates in 14 constituencies.

The voting took place in Bahragora, Ghatsila, Potka, Ichagarh, Majhgaon, Manoharpur, Chakardharpur, Torpa, Sisai, Gumla, Bishunpur, Simdega, Kolebira and Lohardaga assembly segments.

The Election Commission left no stone unturned to ensure smooth polls, while tight security prevailed in all constituencies participating in the voting exercise.

Counting of votes and declaration of the results will take place on December 23. (ANI)
