J'khand: Maoist strongholds go into polling

Ranchi, Dec 12: Voting for the fourth phase of Jharkhand Assembly polls began amid tight security on Saturday, Dec 12 at 7:00 am.

Situated in Maoist strongholds, the 14 Assembly seat that go into polling in this phase include Bahragora, Ghatsila, Potka, Ichagarh, Majhgaon, Manoharpur, Torpa, Sisai, Chakradharpur, Gumla, Bishunpur, Simdega, Kolebira and Lohardaga.

Out of these Assembly seats, 12 are reserved for schedule tribe candidates.

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for smooth polling. Apart from police and other security agencies, six helicopters will be deployed for aerial survey.

The counting of votes is scheduled for Dec 23.
