NIA initiates probe into Oct 2009 Goa blast
New Delhi, Dec 11: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started a probe into Margao blast which rocked Goa in Oct 2009.
The central security which is suspecting a larger conspiracy behind the blast has dispatched a team to Goa to get details of the blast in Margao area in which two people were killed, official sources revealed.
The agency aims at tracking the perpetrators of the crime allegedly carried out by Hindu extremists belonging to a group called Sanathan Sanstha.
NIA was set up after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. And this is the first case handed over to the agency related to a Hindu group.
The Right-wing Hindu group's involvement in the blasts were suspected immediately after the blasts. The two people killed in the blasts were also identified as members of the group.
