Mumbai Radio club on terror radar, city on alert
Mumbai, Dec 10: Intelligence inputs on possible terror attack on Bombay Presidency Radio Club has put the city on alert.
The Mumbai police have reportedly received specific information on a possible Fidayeen attack targeting one of the oldest clubs near Hotel Taj. Following this, the security in India's financial capital has been beefed up.
The club, which has a pier surrounded by the sea, is vulnerable to 26/11 type attacks.
An alert was issued on Wednesday, Dec 9 asking Radio Club to step up security and carefully screen people and members visiting its premises.
The local police station in Colaba has also been informed to keep a strict vigil in and around the club, the police said.
This accounts for the 157th alert issued by intelligence agencies in 2009.
