London, Dec 9: In what could be an embarrassing revelation for the Royal Family, it has come to light that Prince Charles had to borrow money from security officers to meet his traveling expenses.

According to media report, Charles reportedly borrowed £3,000 from Royal Protection Team during his flights abroad.

While the occasion on which Charles ran short of money is not known, it has been speculated that it must have been during his visits to Turkey and Uganda in Nov with his wife Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall .

Charles reportedly paid back nearly £2,744.34 to the Scotland Yard which was encashed few days later.

Without taking Charles' name spokeswoman for Scotland Yard informed that VIPs on certain occasions have borrowed money from officers protecting them.
