Pak is training center for terrorists: Hillary
Washington, Dec 10: In sharp criticism to Pakistan, US secretary of state Hillary Clinton has said that Pakistan and Afghanistan has become the training ground for terrorists.
"We know that much of the training and the direction for terrorists comes from Pakistan and the border area with Afghanistan," Hillary said the Foggy Bottom headquarters of the State Department.
Calling the increase in home grown terrorists as a major concern, Hillary said that US will work in close collaboration with Both Afghanistan and Pakistan to dismantle terrorists strongholds where people like Zazi, David Headley, and others are recruited and trained.
David Coleman Headley, a Pakistan-born US citizen was arrested by FBI fro planning terrorist attacks on India and Denmark and was charge sheeted on Monday Dec 7 with Mumbai terrorist attacks.
Speaking about the Obama's decision to send troops in Pakistan to shut down Taliban, Hillary said that thedecsion was made following evidences of al qaeda's presence in the nation.
"One of the reasons why President Obama made the decision which he announced last week with respect to our strategy going forward is because we continue to see a syndicate of terrorism that al qaeda is, in effect, the head of that is not only an inspirational or ideological head, but providing funding and training and equipping and operational direction to a number of terrorist groups," Hillary said.
