Andhra: 93 legislators resign over Telangana

Hyderabad, Dec 10: The 'Telangana toll' climbs to 93 with more legislators and many MPs belonging to three different parties submitting their resignations on Thursday, Dec 10, intensifying the political chaos in Andhra Pradesh.

Assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy has told the media that 93 legislators from Rayalaseema and Andhra regions and belonging ruling Congress, main Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) had submitted their resignations to him.

The speaker informed that 53 Congress legislators, 29 of TDP and 11 of PRP have submitted their resignation either personally or through fax.

"I will take a decision only after speaking to them individually," he said, adding that they would continue to be the members of the Assembly until their resignations are accepted.
