Patna, Dec.7 (ANI): People of different age groups including college students here took out a rally to protest vulgarity being depicted in television programmes and movies which they find being against Indian ethos and degenerating the minds of viewers.

The protestors during the rally burnt obscene posters and photographs of films and television actors.

Students took part in this protest march through the streets of the city raising slogans against vulgarity projected in the television shows and movies. They carried obscene posters and photographs of models, television and film actors, which they said were root cause of falling social norms and depleting ethics.

"These are obscene pictures and such pictures encourage social evils. Society is being misguided after seeing these obscene pictures and especially our upcoming generation is getting alluded into anti-social activities. Thus in order to save them we have initiated this campaign, this 'national safety mission' (a crusade for values) under which we are burning the obscene photographs to spread the message that we will get rid of the obscene forces. This campaign is launched to save people from the western culture," said Dinesh Kumar Singh, one of the protestors.

The participant students charged that scantly clad heroines and models have adverse effects on the entire society as such there should be a ban on telecast and screening of such figures including printing them for publicity purposes.

Of late, several Bollywood movies and most of the televisions reality shows have become targets of protests. (ANI)
