Liberhan report a distortion of facts: BJP

New Delhi, Dec 7: After the Left came down heavily upon the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the Lok Sabha debate on the Liberhan Commission report on the Babri Masjid demolition, the saffron party tried to defend its case claiming that the report was full of errors.

While opening the debate in the parliament for the BJP, the party president Rajnath Singh said the report was a distortion of facts and was written with a particular political agenda.

He went on to accused the commission, headed by retired Supreme Court judge, MS Liberhan, of failing to look beyond the events which led to the demolition and coming to conclusion based on the events that immediately preceded that incident.

He said that the Dec 6, 1992 incident was an outcome of widespread public anger and was not a planned one.
